Curriculum Focus Areas

LITERACY

Literacy focuses on books and reading. It helps with development of language, learning, imagination, and cognitive function. 

ART

Teacher directed and child initiated art projects provide children with an outlet to express their individuality.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Through giving choices, parallel talking, narration, finger plays and flannel boards children have the potential to expand their language development.

MUSIC

Music and songs promote imagination and refine listening skills. Songs and music allow active engagement and imaginative growth.

MOVEMENT

Movement allows for both gross motor and fine motor skills which assist with development of physical growth and listening skills

SCIENCE

Science connects sensory and science materials to help in the growth of cognitive development.

 

NATURE

Nature allows children to experience realistic expectations and allow for cognitive and social-emotional growth.

 

MATHEMATICS

Mathematics focuses on counting, learning shapes, sorting, patterns, and measuring. 

CHARACTER EDUCATION

Character education helps in the successful growth of social-emotional development by discussing books and stories that actively promote character value and understanding of basic emotion.

GROSS MOTOR ACTIVITIES

Gross motor activity promotes healthy development of physical attributes. Through active outdoor play, teacher initiated activity and sport children learn balance, movement, and  in exercise and healthy habits
